In 1735, Carlo Ginori, founded a porcelain factory on his estate in Doccia near Florence, making Ginori one of the oldest factories, alongside Meissen, in continuous production to this day, predating the English bone china factories. It is one of the few modern enterprises where traditional hand-making skills are preserved.
